Brazilian respondents rejected cheating more often, survey shows

More than half of Brazilian respondents included in a new survey said they would never forgive cheating in a relationship. The survey was conducted by Bohemian Research through its respondent apps MultiPolls, Golden Surveys and RewardRoo.
52.4% said they would never forgive cheating
The survey included 502 complete responses from Brazil and asked respondents: “Would you forgive cheating?”
Overall, 52.4% of respondents said they would never forgive cheating. Another 38.4% said it would depend on the situation, while 9.2% said yes.
The results suggest that forgiving cheating was a minority position among respondents in the survey. However, a large share did not reject forgiveness completely, with nearly four in ten saying the answer would depend on the situation.
Women and men answered similarly on “never”
Women and men in the survey gave broadly similar answers when it came to rejecting forgiveness completely. Among women, 52.8% said they would never forgive cheating. Among men, the share was 51.5%.
The main difference appeared in the share who said yes. Men were more likely than women to say they would forgive cheating, with 13.2% of men selecting “yes”, compared with 7.2% of women.
Younger respondents were more likely to say “never”
The answer “never” was most common among younger respondents. Among respondents aged 18 to 29, 61.2% said they would never forgive cheating. Among those aged 30 to 44, the share was 50.7%.
The share was lower among older respondents in the survey. Among respondents aged 45 to 59, 41.3% said they would never forgive cheating. Among respondents aged 60 and older, the share was 31.6%. The 60+ subgroup was small, so this result should be interpreted with caution.
