Colombian respondents used public transport often, survey shows

A Bohemian Research survey of 500 respondents in Colombia found that 61.2% said they use public transport either every day or several times a week. The survey was conducted by Bohemian Research through its respondent apps MultiPolls, Golden Surveys and RewardRoo.

Public transport was part of everyday life for most respondents

In the survey, 28.4% of respondents said they use public transport every day and another 32.8% said they use it several times a week. Combined, that means 61.2% of respondents reported using public transport at least several times a week.

The most common single answer overall was “Occasionally”, selected by 34.2% of respondents. A further 4.6% said they never use public transport.

Women reported daily public transport use more often than men

Among women in the survey, 31.1% said they use public transport every day, compared with 25.4% of men. Men were also more likely than women to say they never use public transport, at 7.5% versus 2.8%.

Respondents aged 30 to 44 reported the highest daily use

Daily public transport use was highest among respondents aged 30 to 44, where 35.3% selected “Every day”. Among respondents aged 18 to 29, the figure was 25.1%, while 23.5% of respondents aged 45 to 59 and 22.7% of those aged 60 and older said the same.

The youngest group was also the most likely to say they never use public transport. In the 18 to 29 group, 10.2% selected “Never”, compared with 1.6% of respondents aged 30 to 44 and 1.2% of those aged 45 to 59.
